The present publication draws on the work carried out by the Corruption and Economic Crime Branch of UNODC and the Business, Investment and Technology Services Branch of UNIDO. It discusses the obstacles to SME development created by public and private sector corruption, identifies the corporate practices followed in successful efforts to counter corruption and develops tools tailored specifically to fit the needs of SMEs in their efforts to fight corruption in their business environment and to promote good governance.
