The Experiences and Support Needs of People Living at Abbotsford's Rest Stops

This study aimed to better understand the experiences and support needs of people living at the Whatcom Road and Cole Road rest stops in Abbotsford, BC, and to identify barriers and opportunities for service providers, policymakers, and community organizations responding to vehicular homelessness. Through interviews and focus groups conducted with rest stop residents in 2025, the study sought to contribute to local understanding of an issue that remains relatively underexplored in British Columbia and across Canada.
