Migration and Crime: A Canadian Perspective

This paper considers the process of immigration and integration from a Canadian perspective. The relationships between crime and immigration are examined overall and within Canada. This paper argues that current policies, as codified in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Canadian Multiculturalism Act, strive for a politics of inclusion and provides an illustration of positive policies that nation states can follow to facilitate the integration of immigrants into the larger society.
