International Meeting of Experts on the Establishment of and International Criminal Tribunal

Participants in the meeting were experts attending in their personal capacity from 28 countries, experts from relevant intergovernmental a non-governmental organizations and academics. The meeting considered both the short term issue of the creation of an ad hoc tribunal to deal with crimes committed in former Yugoslavia and the longer term aim of the establishment of a permanent court. The report of the meeting was transmitted to the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal law aspects to be forwarded to the International Law Commission, as well as to the International Law Commission for its 1993 annual session.
