Chipo Jura

Chipo Jura, JD, is a Researcher at the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy (ICCLR), focusing on domestic and international criminal law and policy reform, as well as access to justice. She analyzes emerging trends and develops grant proposals for research projects and technical assistance initiatives. Previously, she partnered with Development Solutions and served as a research consultant for UNICEF on a project addressing youth at the nexus of crime and substance abuse in Southern Africa. Chipo has experience as a Legal Officer at Care At The Core of Humanity, leading a Global Affairs Canada gender-based violence program, and implementing a UNICEF Access to Justice program for children in conflict and in contact with the law. She has worked as a family law lawyer in Alberta, primarily serving marginalized communities and legal aid clients, and has been a Judicial Advisor at NorQuest College. Additionally, she was a Fundraising Consultant for the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum, focusing on law and policy reform, strategic impact litigation, and public interest litigation. Chipo holds a Juris Doctorate (JD) from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
